Mission Continuity Planning

Mission Continuity Planning protects UNC Charlotte’s core operations, research enterprise, and student support services during unexpected disruptions. Under University Policy 701, all identified university departments maintain a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) to identify critical functions, assign leadership succession, and establish clear recovery timelines.

How We Build Resilience

Assess: Department/Units conduct a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to prioritize critical functions based on health and life safety, legal, operational, financial, and reputational impacts.

Plan: Departments document recovery strategies and dependencies in the NinerReady Resiliency Planner.

Validate: Teams conduct annual exercises and renew plans every 12 months.
