NinerNotice: Information about Thursday’s Football Game and Campus Changes
The Charlotte 49ers will take on the Rice Owls on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Important game day protocols have been established and changes to campus operations, including class schedules and parking, will be in place.
Please review these reminders:
Classes at 2:30 p.m. and Later
As shared by Provost Jennifer Troyer with faculty over the summer, when the University hosts weekday football games, classes are not canceled. Instead, faculty and students are responsible for all required hours, and faculty should make alternative arrangements for classes and labs scheduled to take place on the main campus at or after 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, in accordance with the UNC Charlotte Academic Procedure: Schedule Interruption Guidelines. Changes to classes will be communicated directly from faculty members to students.
Employees Leaving Campus by 4 p.m. and Accounting for Time
- Because of expected congestion, employees not attending the game are encouraged to exit campus by 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, with approval of their managers.
- The University, however, will be open and appropriate staffing levels are required to provide access to resources during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Departments with second- and third-shift operations should likewise anticipate staffing needs for that evening.
- Supervisors are encouraged to allow staff to use leave time, compensatory time and/or alternate arrangements to weekly work schedules to make up for any lost hours from exiting campus early.
- Staff who plan to stay past 4 p.m. should park on the east side of campus (East Decks 1-3, Lots 5, 5A, 6), so they don’t have to relocate midday.
Football Tickets
- Students – Game day information can be found on the student game day info page.
- Faculty and Staff – Single-game tickets can be purchased on the Charlotte 49ers website.
