NinerNotice: Toby Creek Flooded, Avoid Area

Categories: NinerNotice

As a result of the ongoing rainfall, Toby Creek is out of its banks in several spots on campus, including:

  • The bridge and road at Championship Lane
  • The footbridge near Hauser Alumni Pavilion
  • The footbridge by C.O.R.E. (outdoor workout equipment)

Water levels are expected to continue rising over the next few hours, making these spots dangerous for travel. It will take some time for the water to recede after the rain stops.

Crews are working to put up barricades. Avoid these locations and all areas of the greenway until further notice.

It is never safe to walk or drive through moving or standing water. Turn around and find an alternative route. More information on flooding events can be found on the Emergency Management website.

Next NinerNotice
Unless there is an unexpected change, a final NinerNotice will be sent when water levels have returned to normal and it’s safe to resume travel in these areas.
