NinerNotice: Campus Roads Deteriorating, Do Not Travel
Due to the ongoing snowfall and the number of non-essential vehicles attempting to travel on campus, roadways are becoming impassable in spots.
It is critical that you avoid vehicle traffic on campus unless it is an emergency situation. Cars are becoming stuck or sliding off of roadways, preventing emergency crews and grounds crews from being able to respond.
Again, please do not travel by vehicle on campus. Your cooperation will help keep campus clear for emergency vehicles and essential personnel.
If you have an emergency, call 911 from a campus phone or 704-687-2200 from your cell phone.
Dining
- Consolidated dining options remain available based upon staffing and available supplies, including to-go options to be taken back to residence halls. Please monitor the dining services webpage for the most updated information on available food options.
- Safety tip: When walking to the dining halls or other areas of campus during the storm, make sure to wear warm clothes and appropriate footwear for the conditions (i.e. flat shoes with good grip).
Niner Transit and Light Rail
- Niner Transit service is paused for the remainder of the day. If conditions allow, it will resume in the morning. Download Passio Go! for all the latest information.
- Monitor the CATS website for the latest information on light rail service.
Sledding and other activities
- Roads and parking lots/decks are not safe for sledding, snowboarding, etc. and must remain clear for snow removal and emergency vehicles. Please stay off these areas at all times.
- Additionally, using signs, tables, a-frames and/or other University property for sledding is prohibited.
- People engaging in unsafe activity will be asked by University officials to disperse for safety or road clearing activities.
