NinerNotice: Power Restored to Denny Quad
The power outages affecting Macy, Denny, Barnard, Garinger and Winningham have been stabilized. Classes, business and activities in these buildings can resume normal operations beginning tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 22.
While the electrical service has been stabilized, there are crews still working in the area, which could lead to additional power interruptions throughout the next few days as they work on repairing the equipment.
What should I do if I have classes or work in these buildings?
- Faculty: If you have classes in these buildings, you can resume normal operations. If you choose to continue with other arrangements until crews leave the area, please communicate to your students directly. Refer to the schedule interruption guidelines for more information. For those who were unable to adjust their course delivery, the Office of the Registrar can assist in scheduling a classroom space for alternative instruction dates on Saturday, Nov. 23, or Sunday, Nov. 24, if needed. Please contact regscheduling@charlotte.edu for classroom needs.
- Students: Plan to attend classes as normal, and check your email for any relevant communication from your faculty.
- Staff: If you work in this building, you can resume normal operations. Work with your supervisor if you need to find an alternate work location or transition to remote work.
If you are concerned about meetings and events in these buildings, contact Conference, Reservations and Event Services (CRES) for assistance.
Why am I receiving this NinerNotice?
A NinerNotice provides information about incidents that do not pose a threat to the University community or its operations but may be helpful for interested campus members to know about. Had there been a concern for campus safety, a NinerAlert would have been issued.
Next NinerNotice
There will not be another NinerNotice on this event unless there is an unexpected change or major outage.
