NinerNotice: Update on Power Outage Denny Quad
The following campus buildings continue to experience intermittent power outages: Macy, Denny, Barnard, Garinger and Winningham. There is still no current estimated restoration time.
Please note that the power issues also affect wired and wireless network access.
Students, faculty and staff should avoid these buildings and make alternative arrangements for tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 21.
What should I do if I have classes or work in these buildings?
- Faculty: If you have classes in these buildings, please plan to make other arrangements and communicate to your students directly. Refer to the schedule interruption guidelines for more information. For those unable to adjust their course delivery accordingly, the Office of the Registrar can assist in scheduling a classroom space for alternative instruction dates on Saturday, Nov. 23, or Sunday, Nov. 24. Please contact registrar@charlotte.edu for classroom needs.
- Students: Please check your email for communication from your faculty for changes to classes.
- Staff: Please find an alternative work location on campus or transition to remote work for the remainder of the work day. Work with your supervisor on arrangements.
If you have events scheduled in these buildings, Conference, Reservations and Event Services (CRES) will be in touch with organizers about alternative locations. If you have a meeting not scheduled through CRES that cannot meet virtually, you can contact CRES to get help finding an alternative in-person location on campus.
Why am I receiving this NinerNotice?
A NinerNotice provides information about incidents that do not pose a threat to the University community or its operations but may be helpful for interested campus members to know about. Had there been a concern for campus safety, a NinerAlert would have been issued.
