NinerNotice: Siren Testing Dec. 20
The Office of Emergency Management will conduct a full-system siren test on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The audible part of the test will begin between 1 and 3 p.m. and continue for approximately two hours. The exact start time of the audible portion of the testing depends upon the conclusion of tests of the electrical and computer systems. The tests will ensure the operationality of the upgraded siren system and will only include main campus. NinerAlerts (text, emails, etc.) will not be used during the test.
What to expect
During the audible testing, different siren wails and messages will play over the speakers throughout campus.
In the case that something doesn’t work properly, there is potential that additional testing may be necessary on Thursday, Dec. 21. You can monitor any updates on this on the NinerAlerts Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) accounts.
In the event of an actual emergency, the test will be canceled and you will receive instructions through NinerAlerts.
